* Key square:
1. An important square.
2. (Pawn endings) A square whose occupation by one side's king guarantees the
achievement of a certain goal, such as the win of a pawn.
* Kibitz: As a spectator, making comments on a chess game that can be heard
by the players. Kibitzing on serious games is considered bad manners.
* Kick: Attacking a piece, typically by a pawn, so that it will move.

* King Bishop: The bishop that was on the king-side at the start of the game.
The terms King Knight and King Rook are also used.
* Kingside: The side of the board where the kings are at the start of the
game, as opposed to the queenside.
